Avalanche is a new progressive research firm that uses artificial intelligence-driven survey technology to deliver deep, qualitative insights at the scale of polling in a fraction of the time of focus groups.

Studio Tomo, led by James Wu, had taken Avalanche through a complete brand strategy and visual design process. Next up was translating that onto the web. James brought us on to turn their brand strategy and positioning into a comprehensive content strategy for their new website.

Through this process we:

  • conducted background research,

  • analyzed their competitors,

  • clarified their target audiences,

  • articulated the core idea for their digital content,

  • made site map recommendations for both structure and nomenclature, and

  • outlined the purpose, audiences, core content, and calls-to-action for each major section of their new website.

With the new brand and content strategy established, the website build began in earnest. We then helped reimagine and copyedit a handful of their case studies. While their original material appealed to policy wonks, we made it more web-friendly and in line with their new voice and tone.

On a relatively aggressive timeline, the Constellation was able to translate our brand strategy into a smart, concise content strategy, providing us with much-needed clarity on the objectives and architecture for each webpage.

One of the case studies we edited for the new site was focused on reproductive freedom. Read the full case study on the Avalanche website >

The headline for one of Avalanche’s case studies: Most Americans support reproductive freedom.
A portion of the case study: Americans have strong feelings against regulating abortion.
Another section from the case study: Political discourse in America around abortion largely ignores a critical segment of 29% of the electorate. We call them the “Freedom first” segment.
The Freedom First segment believes that women’s personal freedom must be protected.

The Constellation was able to design a new approach to presenting case studies, which required breaking down relatively complex information into a more accessible format that could be applied across a wide range of content.
